the Alcantara gorge is one of the most
extraordinary natural phenomenon of the
island: an amazing wildly flowing gorge,
more than 20 meters deep, with the waters of
River Alcantara flowing through two
impressive faces of basalt prisms. The
waters are extremely cold but it is usually
possible to walk up the river. |
