Acicastello
is another small sea village developed on
the back of the Castle built in black lava
stones. This Norman fortress is nestled atop
a rocky spur on the sea. This place has been
fortified since the Roman Age; destroyed on
several occasions, it was rebuilt as a
prison but now it is a Museum, collecting
archaeological relics and mineral specimens.
A splendid view over the faraglioni and the
Lachea island can be enjoyed from its top. |
